Conversation-driven initiatives designed to spark awareness and positive change
We’re not just talking about democracy: we’re practicing it. Together.
Our Founding
B.L.U.E. began with a daily moment of inspiration.
Every morning, founder Teagan Moyer would drive past her local senior home and see a woman named Diane standing outside; holding protest signs, advocating for democracy, and showing up for what she believed in. Rain or shine, Diane was there. Her passion and courage stuck with Teagan. One day, Teagan finally stopped and approached her. That conversation sparked the idea for something bigger: What if students and seniors worked together to strengthen democracy?
From there, Teagan partnered with the senior home’s Democratic Club, launching the first-ever intergenerational discussion group. The response was overwhelming: powerful conversations, shared experiences, and genuine community. And from that small beginning, B.L.U.E. was born.
Our founder
Teagan Moyer
Teagan Moyer is a junior in high school with a deep passion for advocacy, politics, and debate. Throughout her high school career, she has worked with Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon, State Senator John Kane, State House candidate Moro, and the Delaware County Council. At the heart of her work is a commitment to equity and meaningful change, driven by the belief that a more just world is possible.
This passion has led her to participate in multiple national leadership experiences. She attended National Advocacy Days, where she joined 50 students from across the country to meet with federal legislators on Capitol Hill. She competed in the Changemakers Competition alongside 80 students nationwide for grant funding. She was also selected as a top 100 U.S. student for the Rising Generations Summit and later named a Top 100 Emerging Innovator worldwide through B.L.U.E., representing students from 29 countries.
Teagan founded B.L.U.E. during a time of urgent need for civic engagement and democratic action, inspired by the idea that generations can truly come together to create change. As part of the inaugural Democracy Summer Kallion Leadership Circle, she studied Jamie Raskin’s Unthinkable alongside high school and college students from across the country. Through this experience, she saw firsthand that when people come together for thoughtful discussion and action, real change is possible.
